02Data we collect
Information you choose to provide
When you complete a seller offer form or message us, we receive the details you enter, which may include:
- your full name and company name;
- your WhatsApp number and email address (where the form asks for them);
- details of your offer: gold type, purity, quantity available, location of the gold, assay report status and whether the supply is one-off or recurring;
- optional commercial details, such as a price expectation, documents available or timing, and any additional notes.
Your WhatsApp profile name and phone number are also visible to us when you send a message on WhatsApp.
What we do not ask for
We do not request bank details, banking instruments, passports, title or origin documents or other identity or financial documents through this website. If such documents are needed later in a commercial discussion, we will explain why and how they will be handled.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) for security and operational purposes.
03Offer form & WhatsApp
SellBullion.ae offers two ways to send your offer:
- The offer page form sends your answers to our server, where they are stored in our database with a reference number. We also keep a salted fingerprint of your IP address (not the address itself) and your browser type, to block spam and abuse. A confirmation window then lets you continue on WhatsApp.
- The form on the main page does not submit your answers to our servers. It opens WhatsApp with a message already written from your answers and addressed to ABC’s business number. The answers remain in your browser window until you close or reload the page.
In both cases, nothing is sent on WhatsApp until you tap Send. You can review, edit or delete the message first. Once sent, the message is carried by WhatsApp, a service provided by Meta Platforms, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
04How we use your data
- to respond to your offer and contact you about it;
- to identify suitable buyers within our network of refiners and traders;
- to coordinate commercial discussions you have asked us to start;
- to keep records of our business correspondence;
- to protect the website and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
05Legal basis
We process personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and any free-zone data protection rules that apply to ABC. We rely on:
- the steps you ask us to take before a possible contract (handling your offer);
- your consent, given when you choose to send us your details;
- our legitimate interest in running and securing our business;
- compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, including those that apply to trade in precious metals.
07International transfers
Because our buyer network and service providers operate in several countries, your data may be processed outside the UAE. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps so that your data receives an appropriate level of protection, as required by applicable law.
08Retention
We keep offers and related correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting business relationship, and afterwards for the period required by applicable law. Offers that do not lead to a business relationship are deleted once they are no longer needed.
09Security
We restrict access to offer data to the team members who need it and use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive documents unless we have agreed a secure method with you.
11Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold your personal data and give you a copy;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- delete your data or restrict how we use it;
- stop processing that relies on your consent, at any time;
- object to certain processing.
